Installation services
Quality flooring. Professional installation. Beautiful results.
Removal & preparation
Removal of old flooring. Carpet, pad, vinyl, laminate or tile taken out and hauled away when it is part of the project.
Subfloor assessment and prep. We check flatness and condition, then level low spots and fix squeaks so the click joints stay tight.
Professional installation
Underlayment. The right underlayment for the product and the subfloor, or none when the plank has a pad attached and the manufacturer says so.
Plank installation. Floating click-lock installation with the layout planned so seams, doorways and long walls look intentional.
Baseboards & finishing
Expansion gaps and transitions. Laminate expands and contracts. We leave the gaps the manufacturer requires and cover them with clean transitions and trim.
Stairs, baseboards and trim. Stair nosings, risers, new baseboards or shoe molding and thresholds finished to match.
Why installation matters with laminate
Most laminate problems come from the install, not the plank: a subfloor that is not flat enough, missing expansion space at walls and doorways, or the wrong underlayment. Those show up later as soft spots, peaking joints or gaps.
We follow each manufacturer's written installation guide, because it is what the warranty is based on, and we check flatness before the first plank goes down. See how we handle floor removal and subfloor preparation.

Staircase transformation
Beautiful Floors Deserve Beautiful Stairs.
Yes, we install laminate on stairs, when the product and the staircase allow it. Many laminate collections offer matching stair noses, and the staircase can be finished so the floors and the stairs read as one surface.
A typical laminate staircase includes treads covered in the floor or a matching tread product, coordinating stair noses, finished risers (painted, or covered to match) and clean transitions at the top and bottom landings. We check each staircase for condition and squeaks first, and we only use laminate products the manufacturer approves for stairs.
- Laminate treads where the product allows
- Coordinating stair noses
- Risers painted or matched
- Landings and top-of-stair transitions
- Upgrades to existing carpeted stairs
Water resistance
Water-resistant and waterproof laminate
Laminate has a wood-fiber core, and how well it handles water varies by manufacturer and collection. Some lines are sold as water-resistant, meaning surface spills can be wiped up within a stated time. Others are marketed as waterproof, with tested ratings for surface water over a set number of hours.
Laminate
- Wood-fiber core with a hard, scratch-resistant surface
- Water resistance varies by manufacturer and collection
- Waterproof-rated lines have tested limits and warranty conditions
- Not meant for standing water, flooding or some full bathrooms
Luxury vinyl plank & SPC
- Vinyl core (SPC or WPC) that does not swell from surface water
- Many LVP and SPC planks have waterproof construction
- The installed floor and subfloor are not floodproof
- Usually the best fit for kitchens, laundry rooms, baths and pets
Even waterproof-rated laminate has limits written into its warranty, such as sealing requirements at the perimeter and exclusions for standing water, flooding or some full bathrooms. Laminate is not a fit for every wet area, and we tell you when a product is not right for a room.
In our catalog, collections from MegaClic and Lago, and some SLCC lines, are labeled waterproof by their manufacturers; Opulux lists its collections as water-resistant; other brands vary by line. Each product page shows the manufacturer's exact claim. If you need the highest water protection, luxury vinyl plank is usually the better choice.
Baseboards & finishing
Baseboards and finishing
New floors are the right time for new baseboards. Old baseboards often show a gap or paint line once carpet or thick flooring comes out. We can remove and replace baseboards, add shoe molding where it suits the room, and finish transitions to tile, hardwood and stairs.
Doing flooring, stairs and baseboards together means one schedule, one quote and finishes that match.
Laminate projects can include new MDF baseboards in a choice of profiles, which you select.
How the visit works: we bring samples to your home, measure every room and the stairs, check the subfloor, and can quote on the spot if you want, or send a written quote afterward. The estimate is free within our service area. See how shopping at home works.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is laminate flooring waterproof or water-resistant?
It depends on the product. Some laminate is water-resistant for surface spills; some collections are marketed as waterproof with tested ratings. All have manufacturer limits, and none are meant for standing water or flooding. Each product page lists the manufacturer's exact claim.
Can laminate flooring be installed on stairs?
Often, yes, when the manufacturer approves the product for stairs and offers matching stair noses. We check the staircase and the product before quoting.
Can you replace carpet with laminate?
Yes. We remove carpet, pad and tack strip, prepare the subfloor and install the laminate, and we can convert carpeted stairs at the same time.
Do you install baseboards with new laminate flooring?
Yes. We can replace baseboards, add shoe molding and finish transitions as part of the same project.
How long does laminate installation take?
It depends on square footage, removal, subfloor prep and stairs. We give you a schedule with your written quote.
Do you offer free in-home estimates?
Yes. We bring samples to your home, measure, and quote materials, installation, stairs and baseboards.
Can I buy laminate as materials only?
Yes. We sell laminate with installation or as materials only. If you already bought flooring, ask us about installing it; we check the material and the subfloor at the estimate.
