What matters for floors in Thousand Oaks
Floors for family life
Wire-brushed, matte European oak hides scratches from kids and pets far better than smooth, glossy wood, and it can be refinished down the road.
Conejo Valley heat and dry air
Inland heat and dry summers make wood move. We acclimate every floor, check moisture and use engineered hardwood where stability matters most.
Carpet-to-wood stairs
Many Thousand Oaks homes still have carpeted stairs. We replace them with solid oak treads stained to match your new floors, usually in the same project.

A recent project next door in Westlake Village
We designed and built a whole-home remodel of this waterfront house in Westlake Village, next door to Thousand Oaks. Before, the two-story living room had green wall-to-wall carpet, a brick chimney and a solid loft wall. We pulled the carpet and chose Monarch Plank's Lago Devero European oak to carry through the home. The main floor is laid in herringbone, while the upstairs switches to straight wide plank in the same product, so the two levels share one color and finish but each has its own character.
- Flooring
- Monarch Plank Lago Devero engineered European oak
- Layout
- Herringbone on the main floor, straight plank upstairs
- Plank size
- 7" wide, 9/16" thick, random lengths up to 86"
Thousand Oaks flooring questions
Do you come out to Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park?+
Yes. Both are in our service area for free in-home estimates with samples.
What’s the most durable hardwood for a busy family?+
A wire-brushed European white oak with a matte finish. The texture hides everyday wear, and oak is hard enough for kids and pets.
Can you match new stairs to my floors?+
Yes. We custom stain solid oak treads on site to match the floor color, then pair them with painted or stained risers.
