Wide-plank light oak floors, modern farmhouse in Porter Ranch
Long, wide-plank light oak through a vaulted great room, kitchen, office and primary suite.
About this project
This Porter Ranch modern farmhouse runs one wide-plank light oak floor through the entire main living area, from the vaulted great room with its skylights and marble fireplace wall to the kitchen, home office, oak-paneled media room and primary suite.
Long, wide boards suit a home with this much open space. With fewer seams across the floor, the great room reads as one calm surface, and the pale oak keeps the space bright under the skylights while tying in with the white oak cabinetry and built-ins.
Light, low-sheen oak like this is one of the most requested looks in the northern San Fernando Valley. It pairs with modern farmhouse and transitional design and hides everyday dust and wear better than dark floors.
